to be honest i would like to get some new makeup/accessories…reason is…i don’t own any. i am however inspired by a lot of things such as rockabilly, punk, the 50’s, vintage, boutique and everyday such as nature and the beautiful peachy purple skies. this would go nice as my lips are full pouting ones that need attention and would highlight my blue,green eyes :)

The weather inspires me. Sunsets especially, but on a day to day basis, the weather sets my mood and determines my make-up. When its overcast I do dull colours, like greys, and when its sunny I do bright summery colours

I am inspired by other artists mostly right now. I am very new to the make up world and am totally in LOVE with it! I’m not the most creative person so I get a lot of my inspiration and ideas from others (which I always give credit where it’s due!) Otherwise I’m inspired by looks of the 50’s, I love the clothes, the styles, the dances, just about everything about that era! In my dream world I would be able to go to school to become a make up artist and do that every day, but right now that’s not the plan so hopefully I can keep doing it on the side and soemday I’ll get to try that avenue professionally!

lol; I’m not sure if I qualify for this contest since I’m in the US but sharing inspiration is always fun… so what the hell. :P Inspiration is one of those random things you find everywhere but for makeup, since I usually decide on colors first then the exact shapes.. I mainly get the initial inspriation from interesting color contrasts I see. (Neon sky blue or neon green with black makes an amazing color contrast I need to try) For everyday looks.. I can’t go too wild so after I decide on the main colors it’s pretty much applied the same way. For costumed looks, I let the costume guide me. I try to go with make up as unique as possible. For example, I really love drawing “tattoos” with liquid eyeliners on my cheek. It’s fun and doesn’t require commitment!

i personally feel that inspiration is born of observation, and changes constantly from women on the street, magazines, texture & to how the light creates colour on a variety of skins. Makeup is Artistry so like any Artist i feel all inspiration for me comes from observation. i keep a scrapbook of inspirational images, thoughts and colour combinations sometimes even bland company logos/supermarket products inspire me… inspirations and ideas are everywhere its just a matter of looking and making it my own. Currently i am loving images from the 70s and alternative lifestyles.

When I do wear makeup for events and such, I look to my art supplies for ideas, as well as the world around me. I’ve gone from living in Alaska (deep greens and blues and smoke-blue grays, the midnight sun and glittering snow) to living in Atlanta GA (springy neon green and holo-tint glass and concrete) and now Arizona (rusty reds and pale purples and the silver-green of mountain silver sage, sunsets and night sky full stars), and I find that the world around me changes with each passing moment. Here in Arizona there are beautiful chunks of desert (much like what’s around Ayers Rock, and I do find it beautiful) and I find that the splash of sunsets against shifting sand and red rock makes for a great idea when all else fails. My art supplies are vast and the colours are amazing, and I feel that if I can capture some of that and use it to highlight my own features, even for just a few fleeting hours, then I am showing off more than just myself, I’m showing off the ever changing and ever growing landscapes around me.

Im inspired by nature and natural elements in my art and make up…the rich pinks of a hibiscus flower or the cool blues of the sea on a tropical island, the lucsious green of a newly sprouted plant and the sparkle of the first star at night…
nature is always changing as does the pallets in my make up case or in my paint box. :)

My daily makeup adventures are inspired by nature; especially the vivid colours of birds and beetles and insects… from rich blues of a peacock to the shocking pink of a flamingo to beautiful pearly colours of Christmas beetles… the juxtapositions are amazing….
Sometimes they’re inspired by a persona I want to be for a day – a 60s housewife, a punk, a vamp… so fashion too!
And of course! Most importantly, everything is inspired by the people and world around you! And world peace… xx

I think that nature has the best color combinations, so I was inspired by flowers and fruits, but I want to do a makeup inspired by literature, women described in the literature as Madame Bovary

I am inspired by everything that surrounds me and my clothing & mood that plays a huge role in how i am inspired on a daily bases, Daphne Guinness inspires me so much. but Like so many have indicated above inspiration can come in the from of some of the most oddest of things/places, its just being open to it :)
