Makeup tutorial

I finally got the chance to play around with Sugarpill Cosmetics! It’s official – I love Sugarpill! This look is really quick and easy and all about colour and blending!

Tropical orchid blossom with Sugarpill Cosmetics

I used Sugarpill’s pressed eyeshadows in:

  1. Prep eyelids with eyeshadow primer and apply ‘Bulletproof’ (matte black) shadow all over the eyelid, stopping at the crease and winging out into points at the edge of the eyes. Pack it on and really make it strong, opaque and dramatic.
  2. Next step is to load up a small fluffy blending brush with ‘Buttercupcake’ shadow (bright yellow) and apply in the upper outer corners of the eyelid (under the brows). Take it right up to the temples if you like.
  3. Grab a medium sized blending brush (or blush brush) and apply ‘Flamepoint’ shadow (bright orange) really strong high on the cheekbones, blending upwards towards the yellow. Blend excess Orange with yellow so that the blending flows and is seamless.
  4. Using a small fluffy brush, apply ‘Dollipop’ shadow (bright medium pink) under the lower lash line, blending downwards and across in sweeping motions. Again, blend with the orange for a seamless look (so that you can’t tell where one colour finishes or starts)
  5. Using a creamy black kohl pencil, line the lower waterline. Using a small brush, apply a little more black shadow into the lower lashline, getting right into and between the lases, and blend it downwards into the pink shadow.
  6. Apply false lashes and mascara to top and bottom lashes.
  7. Use a nude shiny gloss on lips to finish the look.

I really can’t get over how lush and richly pigmented these colours are! I found that a little product went a long way with these pressed shadows and that they blend very well with each other. I will definitely be experimenting with these products a lot more so look out for more tutorials and shoot pics to come!

Thanks to my beautiful sister Danielle for giving such great face <3

DIY edition! – inspiration to make something new with the old…

  • OutsaPop is an amazing blog all about fashionable DIY’s and getting crafty with scissors and glue. When I have time I am definitely going to try making the leather paillettes cardigan!
  • Park & Cube is another glorious fashion blog, with heaps of adorable DIY tutorials. Park & Cube inspired me to go on a bead shopping mission to find the perfect additions to sew onto a pair of lace tights! To be continued…
  • Thread Banger is another DIY fashion blog but with video tutorials! Hooray! Lady Gaga ‘Telephone’ bra anyone?
  • Style Bytes by Agathe is a quirky lifestyle blog with daily outfit photos and what not. You have to do a bit of browsing to find the DIY entries, but make like I did and play spot the piglet that pops up in quite a few pictures! Adorable!!

If you guys know of any other DIY blogs please share!

Hello! The past few weeks have been relatively low-key. I’m back at work, back to routine! There have been a few photo shoots (pictured are some shots from the album cover shoot for local band ‘The Finishing School‘), a gig we went Gaga for, and Autumn days-off filled with window shopping.
