I have a new tutorial up at the lovely Doe Deere’s Blogazine. The theme is ‘New-world Cleopatra’, check it out. It’s always nice to collaborate with Doe and use her fabulous Lime Crime products. I’m a very lucky girl! I also have an interview up at Adore Beauty right now so go have a read and tell me what you think!
Brent and I are off to Sydney this Saturday for a bunch of photo shoots. I’m expecting lots of sequins and feathers so keep your eyes peeled for behind-the-scenes antics, should be fun!

The other day, Brent and I decided to give Jessica Rabbit a run for her money. We bought this bouncy over-the-top red wig from eBay and I applied Jessica’s cartoonish makeup. We put it up on art community Deviant Art and it received a Daily Deviation which got it a lot of attention, woot!

I love silver hardware on everything, and studs are my favorite kind! Lately I have added bags, belts and even a studded dress to my wardrobe. It’s so great that studded detailing is everywhere at the moment because normally I’m left feeling pretty unsatisfied with what’s out there in shops. I found this drawstring bucket bag by Urban Originals and it’s perfect - roomy, stylish, and studded!

It’s Winter here in Australia, so I’ve been rocking the boots/tights combo a whole lot lately. I love classic black opaques, but when I came across these Ambra two-tone tights, inspired by Chanel’s autumn/winter 2009 show, I Just had to have them. Anything with a ’surprise’ factor is great to pair back with basics in an outfit.
Zip detailing = love. And I found it in these pump/boot concoctions from Target.

What we carry in our handbags says a lot about us! You can really learn volumes about a person from taking a peek inside their bag; haphazardly messy or neat and coordinated? Does each item serve a purpose or is useless stuff just hogging up precious space? I have always had a rather “thrown together” attitude towards the contents of my handbag, lugging around things that I never really needed. Lately though, I have been making the effort to keep everything nice and organised.

I recently started using the Marc by Marc Jacobs Softy Tobo bag in white. I love the style because it is soft, slouchy and casual, and the silver hardware is a nice touch (I much prefer silver to gold hardware on handbags). This bag is great because I can fit in so much stuff, but it does weigh a ton!

Contents include: Mimco bling hairclip, Patent leather wallet, Eclipse mints, Nokia E71, Moleskine planner, Mimco zebra print makeup bag, MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner in Petting Pink, MAC Dazzleglass in Love Alert, MAC lipsticks in Ruby Woo and Kinda Sexy, MAC Studio Fix powder and concealer, Miu Miu Sunglasses and case.
Your turn: What’s in your handbag?

Working at MAC is always fun and exciting, but when the weekend comes along we all go a little nuts! In a good way of course. We have ‘theme days’, meaning one of us comes up with a theme based around the current colour collection and we all wear the same look. The artist designing the look has to come up with a face map, which explains to the other artists exactly how they want the look to appear on the face - focusing on everything from eyeshadow placement, lip liner and whether or not the look involves false eyelashes. The artist also has to let the others know how to wear their hair and what style of clothing etc to wear to compliment the look! Basically, the look has to be consistent between us all for maximum impact! Last Saturday the theme day was designed by me, focusing around the current limited edition colour collection called ‘A Rose Romance’. The collection is beautiful - lip stains, rose petal beauty powders and a very special version of Fix + Spray Rose (one of my fave products from this collection!). Of course I love this collection - I love anything involving roses and ultra femininity!
I thought a ‘Marie Antoinette’ theme would be cool, so here are a few pics from the day! We also had an event at our store that day, and 2 models came in to be styled and makeup-ed into living, breathing, twirling flowers! It was really cute.

This column is a visual diary of my week. Think outings with friends, photo shoots, events, new purchases, work and pretty much anything and everything - brought to you once a week with love.

Last Friday I attended the opening of an exhibition of works featuring the human skull, in conjunction with the Australian Cranio-Maxillo Facial Foundation. My friend, photographer Harmony Nicholas, had a piece on display that I also did the makeup for. That’s us being all cheesy!

My friend Tina who resides in Los Angeles came all the way back to Adelaide for a short stint. She came and checked out the exhibition and we caught up over dinner and drinks, which was awesome. She’s back in L.A now (Brent and I are trying to get there some time this year, so we’ll see!)

On Wednesday night my boyfriend and I had a lovely Chinese dinner with our friend Stevie. Here she is in her natural habitat, eating masses of greens.

Obligatory new shoe shot, and ripped stockings for the win.

And lastly, this is probably what I would look like if I came from outer space (teaser).

Just because, here’s random collection of makeup styles I wore to work at MAC during the Hello Kitty collection. All looks were created with the ‘Too Dolly’ eyeshadow quad. I especially love the pink colour ‘Romping’, which turns into a beautiful purple when mixed with ‘Stately Black’. Yum!

These Miu Miu sunglasses are a recent purchase of mine. I instantly fell in love with the classic over-sized circular ‘Jackie O’ style. They are pretty much the perfect sunglasses for me! Love!
