What a crazy few months it has been! As always, I am keeping myself busy and preoccupied. Sorry it’s been so long in between posts but I just haven’t had the time to sit on the computer longer than 5 minutes! I have some exciting projects in the works and to start with I did the make-up for Ruby Rose who will be gracing the cover of the November issue of Australian Ink Magazine. I jetted to Sydney back in late August for the shoot, and while there I also got to meet and rub lotion into the lovely Didier Cohen (clothing label ‘Industrie’s main man). I jumped at the chance to work with both Ruby and the amazing Photographer Jason Ierace, who has shot everyone from Dave Grohl to Helena Christensen. Talk about hyper-excitement on my part! Brent came along for the ride and took some behind the scenes pics for me on location at the Ivy. A big thank you to Editor Vanessa Morgan for the opportunity! If you’re in Australia, keep an eye out for Issue 3 of Australian Ink Magazine, out in all newsagents on November 20th! Until then, here are some pictures to tide you over…

We did a few different looks, including a smokey eye with a bold lip, and a natural look with neutral lips and eyes.

The crew – Photographer Jason Ierace, Creative Director Rob Loughridge, Stylist Marina Didovich.

Love the colours and styling. The dresses and accessories were to die for, I was pretty much drooling!

I have seen a few of the finished shots and they look super hot but I’m going to hold out on posting until the mag is released!

I have a new tutorial up at the lovely Doe Deere’s Blogazine. The theme is ‘New-world Cleopatra’, check it out. It’s always nice to collaborate with Doe and use her fabulous Lime Crime products. I’m a very lucky girl! I also have an interview up at Adore Beauty right now so go have a read and tell me what you think!
Brent and I are off to Sydney this Saturday for a bunch of photo shoots. I’m expecting lots of sequins and feathers so keep your eyes peeled for behind-the-scenes antics, should be fun!

The other day, Brent and I decided to give Jessica Rabbit a run for her money. We bought this bouncy over-the-top red wig from eBay and I applied Jessica’s cartoonish makeup. We put it up on art community Deviant Art and it received a Daily Deviation which got it a lot of attention, woot!

I love silver hardware on everything, and studs are my favorite kind! Lately I have added bags, belts and even a studded dress to my wardrobe. It’s so great that studded detailing is everywhere at the moment because normally I’m left feeling pretty unsatisfied with what’s out there in shops. I found this drawstring bucket bag by Urban Originals and it’s perfect – roomy, stylish, and studded!

It’s Winter here in Australia, so I’ve been rocking the boots/tights combo a whole lot lately. I love classic black opaques, but when I came across these Ambra two-tone tights, inspired by Chanel’s autumn/winter 2009 show, I Just had to have them. Anything with a ’surprise’ factor is great to pair back with basics in an outfit.
Zip detailing = love. And I found it in these pump/boot concoctions from Target.

What we carry in our handbags says a lot about us! You can really learn volumes about a person from taking a peek inside their bag; haphazardly messy or neat and coordinated? Does each item serve a purpose or is useless stuff just hogging up precious space? I have always had a rather “thrown together” attitude towards the contents of my handbag, lugging around things that I never really needed. Lately though, I have been making the effort to keep everything nice and organised.

I recently started using the Marc by Marc Jacobs Softy Tobo bag in white. I love the style because it is soft, slouchy and casual, and the silver hardware is a nice touch (I much prefer silver to gold hardware on handbags). This bag is great because I can fit in so much stuff, but it does weigh a ton!

Contents include: Mimco bling hairclip, Patent leather wallet, Eclipse mints, Nokia E71, Moleskine planner, Mimco zebra print makeup bag, MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner in Petting Pink, MAC Dazzleglass in Love Alert, MAC lipsticks in Ruby Woo and Kinda Sexy, MAC Studio Fix powder and concealer, Miu Miu Sunglasses and case.
Your turn: What’s in your handbag?
